Dr. John Feland is a data clairvoyant and award-winning design thinker. He integrates information gathered from online conversations across a wealth of communications sources—social media channels, article comments, customer reviews and other data points—to accurately predict consumer behavior and oncoming trends. John has degrees from MIT and Stanford in Mechanical Engineering and Design Innovation. A former IDEO designer, he taught the first class in the Stanford d.school and won a Red Dot Design Concept Award for the first working multitouch smart phone prototype. John has worked on the design of a wide array of products and services ranging from surveillance satellites (Air Force), touch sensitive smart phones (Synaptics) to predictive algorithms (Argus Insights). Adept in presenting in the board room, orchestrating a brainstorm, crafting in the machine shop or hacking at the keyboard, John has a knack for anticipating and architecting what is next.
