Building an MVNO to Serve the SMB Market

CloudComm* was looking to create a new mobile business to protect share of its SMB market and to create new areas of growth. CloudComm* looked to build its own Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) to serve the SMB multi-line mobile business using its core technology platform to create a competitive mobile business.

The Challenge

CloudComm* was losing share in the SMB market as customers adopted mobile solutions as alternatives to VoIP based phone systems. 

CloudComm* maintained unique capabilities for call routing, message handling and low-cost call termination that could be used to bring a unique value proposition to the mobile SMB market lacked mobile expertise.

The Solution

The teams operational in standing up new mobile business ventures was leveraged to identify third party capabilities that could be integrated into CloudComm*’s core network to enable CloudComm* specific mobile service offerings.

Customer insights, competitive benchmarking and deep industry expertise allowed the team to identify, prioritize and deliver new innovative unmet SMB mobile calling solutions integrated with CloudComm*’s core value proposition.

The Result

A fully functional MVNO was developed however CloudComm* ultimately determined not to launch the MVNO so that it can focus on strategic vs. organic growth opportunities while stabilizing the business to support recent acquisitions.
